Obviously the name Usain is a West Indian pronounciation of the name Husain, which means handsome in Arabic. Husain also spelled Hussein and Husayn was the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (SAAS), who Muslims trace their spiritual knowledge to.

I heard that Usain Bolt is muslim is he really?
and if so where did u hear it from
yes, islamic influence in the west indies is significant and usain is actually the name husayn, as you mention. it’s similar to how husayn has become “hosay” elsewhere in the west indies, a word they use regarding the muharram commemoration as they remember the martyrdom and sacrifice of Husayn (r.a.) and his family in the way of God.

His brother’s name Sadeek is clearly a muslim name. Shireen his sister also has a muslim name. All of this is just conincidence? Parents name though sound christian.
