The following is a page from an outline from a Hajj booklet based upon lectures that I gave 5 years ago in Al-Madinah discussing the symbolism of Hajj.
Some of this may appear to be very abstract, especially to those who have not been students of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed (RH). Perhaps I will write about this more time permitting.

One Comment
Wow…nice. Imam has dropped so much knowledge on the Hajj.
I was just reading about how Hajar running back and forth between As-Safa and Al-Marwah represents the struggle for understanding and enlightenment. This is symbolized in wudu – starting from the front (As-safa) and moving to the back (Al-Marwah) and forward again. Hajar’s frantic running is really the mind searching for answers. That straining in the mind led to aquiring that spark or spiritual balance (Zamzam). This is obviously comes from the language of Imam Mohammed.
Whats interesting to me…I looked up miim-ra-wow and it said flint stone, white fragile stone where a cooking fire is started. These stones create a spark (ZamZam). And Sad-fa-wow as you pointed out means to become pure or CLEAR…just like water. MashAllah.
