One thought on “Discussion on “Ground Zero” community center

  1. I think it is unfortunate and indeed sad to see the depths of America’s bigotry such as what we saw on television the other day in Manhattan where protestors were shouting bigoted comments directed at Muslims in general over the proposed building of the mosque near Ground Zero. There are synogogues, churches and institutions of many faiths in and around Manhattan. Regardless of who were behind the 9/11 attacks, there is no reason to forbid the building of the mosque near Ground Zero, especially in New York City — the supposed “melting pot” of all faiths and nationalities.

I cannot understand the discussion of the need to preach reconciliation and peace on the one hand and yell such insane epithets on the other. Even more troubling is the fact that the anti-mosque protestors’ messages were filled with an irrational hatred against all Muslims in general. All Muslims are not to blame for the 9/11 attacks.
