Yesterday’s talk, in the spirit of MLK Day, was about race within Islam.
More specifically, the following were touched on:
1) Marriage of Bilal (RA) to an Arab woman and the resistance of her tribe.
2) Youth being compelled to marry from their parents’ choosing based primarily on ancestry of parents to restriction of others is a reason of growing divorce rate in community.
3) Muslims need to call out racism among ourselves to have moral authority to discuss racism from outside.

I gave both of today’s khutbahs at the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit in Rochester Hills, MI about those who split their religion into sects.
Both khutbahs discussed innovations relating to those who partake in shaykh worshipping and those who make inter-ethnic marriage makruh (despicable).
The first khutbah also discussed the death of Hassan Zeidan in Dearborn, MI.
The second khutbah discussed the merits of making prayer on the night of the 15th of Sha’ban according to a hadeeth narrated by Ibn Majah declared by Albani to be hasan and by a saying narrated by Muhammad ibn Idrees Ash-Shafi’I (RH).
Listen to 1st khutbah.
